By default, the system has its own default screen resolution settings, the best for your system. You can also alter those settings according to own requirements. In Windows 10, the screen resolution settings in the desktop context menu is replaced with the Display settings.

Starting with the Windows 10 build 15002, the Display settings page is updated. It is more streamlined in comparison to one available in the previous builds. It comes with updated user interface which completely turns the layout of functions and controls

All the controls and functions are now located on a single page accompanied with display resolution options, text scaling, and size settings as well as various settings for multiple displays. The new page display settings page will be part of Windows 10 Anniversary Update (Version 1706).

In case, you don’t know how to manage display settings in Windows 10, then here is what you need to do:

1. Launch the Settings app. For that, press WIN + I hotkeys.

2. Click on the System and then on Display tab on the left panel.

Alternatively, to launch the Display settings page quickly. Make right click on the desktop and from the context menu select Display Settings. And you will be on the same display page.

Else, use the display command to launch the Display Settings page. For that, type the following code in the RUN dialog box:

3. Here on this page, head over to “Resolution“. You will find it under Scale and layout. Click on the drop-down and you will get all the possible resolution available for your screen.

4. Pick the required resolution from the drop-down.

Once you select the resolution other than recommended or default. A blue color pop-over will appear which gives you 15 seconds to confirm the changes. To set the selected resolution press the Keep changes button, else Revert.

Under display and layout settings there are some other options which you can use to alter display settings like you can use:

In case, you want to increase the size of text, apps, and other items, then you can do that upto 125% by using the drop down menu labeled as “Change the size of text, apps, the other items” In case, you want the advance sizing, then click on the link which read “Advance sizing of text and other items“.

For changing the orientation of the Widows 10 desktop screen to Portrait to Landscape or vice versa. You can take help of Orientation drop-down.

You can also click on Display Adapter properties link under Multiple display title to explore more about Display Adapter of your system.

You can click on Blue light settings link to enable Blue Light Reduction Mode in Windows 10.

If you want to adjust the brightness, you can also do that with the help of Change brightness bar.
