Type following command:

sfc /scannow

Reset Microsoft Edge Browser via Windows PowerShell

The following method will remove all the core data of Microsoft Edge browser and re-register it. But it is a good idea to perform a full backup or create a system restore point before following this method so that you can take your system back to normal state if anything goes wrong.

So here is what you need to do:

In above address replace “%username” with your username in my case its winranx. So after replacing the username, the above address will look like:


Launch Windows PowerShell. For that, make right click on the Start button and from the menu select “Windows PowerShell (Admin)

You can also search “Windows PowerShell” in the Start menu search bar if it is not available in the WINX menu.

When UAC dialog appears, click Yes to continue.

In the PowerShell type or paste the following command and hit enter

Get-AppXPackage -AllUsers -Name Microsoft.MicrosoftEdge | Foreach {Add-AppxPackage -DisableDevelopmentMode -Register “$($_.InstallLocation)\AppXManifest.xml” -Verbose}

It will start the re-registering process and once the process is completed successfully you will see the following message:
